Important Deadlines
ProgramThe conference location is University Square (Universitätsplatz) in the Old Town (Altstadt) of Heidelberg. Conference activities start on Tuesday, September 2, with the possibility to register at the conference office from 17:00 to 20:00 at Neue Universität, Universitätsplatz, and to obtain the conference material. From Wednesday to Friday the conference office will be located at the same place. On these days it will be open from 8:30 until 18:00. These talks are scheduled for 30 minutes including discussion. The conference languages are English and German. Presentations will be grouped into sessions within the sections. For abstract submission please use the conference web site and follow the instructions given there. Please note that presentations at the conference are only possible, if the speaker has registered, submitted an abstract, and paid the registration fee.RegistrationAll participants planning to attend the conference are requested to register via the conference web site where all instructions are given. The registration fee entitles the participant to attend all sessions and coffee breaks with refreshments, as well as to obtain the conference documentation and a free copy of the proceedings volume. The deadline for early registration is May 31, 2003. Early registrations are only valid if the conference fee is paid before this deadline. After May 31, 2003 the regular fee applies.Conference registration fees (in EURO) are:
Banquet and special social activities have separate fees and have to be booked and paid in advance with the registration. Refund for CancellationsRefund for cancellations minus a EUR 40,- handling charge is only possible if a written application is received before August 1, 2003. No refund is possible after this date.Travel Information and AccomodationDetailed travel information (air, train) can be found at the conference web site. The part of the university where the conference takes place is located in the old town of Heidelberg and thus within walking distance of most hotels. Please note that, since Heidelberg is a tourist city, early booking of hotel rooms is strongly advised. Hotel reservations can be made via the web site.Social EventsPlease use the registration form at the web site to register for one of the following events. The costs for some of these events must be paid together with the conference fee. Tours are subject to cancellation if there is insufficient participation.
Proceedings VolumeFor submitting contributions to the proceedings volume please follow the instructions given at the web site. Note that the deadline for submissions is August 31, 2003. All submissions will be evaluated by the editorial board after the conference. Due to the strict page limit for the volume, only a selected number of manuscripts of each section can be published in the proceedings. For articles exceeding the page limit of the proceedings, a submission to the journals Operations Research Spectrum or Mathematical Methods of Operations Research is encouraged. Every registered participant is entitled to one free copy of the proceedings volume which will be mailed after the conference. |
